Ha, yea I gone and done it, despite my comments about 12 strings I couldn’t get these thoughts out of my head:
(A near mint condition JF30-12 [like mine] is a wonderful thing!)

Only the couple years of the Corona Guilds offered a three piece mahogany neck in leu of maple, and a smooth African ebony fretboard and bridge Instead of earlier rosewood. Really nice
Those seeds got planted(thanks fellas), but really it was the fact it was a one owner guitar bought new from a shop in Santa Monica that I used to live near, I thought I should rescue this as it has a story to tell and I felt a connection. So be it if I just use it to play a handful of songs, in fact I got to thinking I spent time learning some 12 string songs when I had the D1212 and I was missing them, plus didn’t want the effort to learn go to waste. So I went and looked at it, knew I better grab this before it was gone and I regretted it. It is really pretty clean, almost minty, has a small mar or two, but otherwise yes, very excellent condition and I scored it for less than he offered it for. Just needed some humidity, oiled the fretboard, cleaned it up and slapped on some new strings, man she cleaned up nicely. The maple looks killer all around, only ding really is the gold tuners are fading as gold plating is wont to do, and the salt air didn’t likely help, not sure if I’d change them but I’d probably prefer chrome. It just sings with the D‘addario pb lights I put on too. Without further ado:

Oh, by the way, is this the instrument you posted about that was on the LA Craigslist, Boneman? Just curious.

Smart man! That thing is gorgeous! Ebony fretboard, YES! And OMG, that arched maple back! Whew! Super major congrats!

Oh hell, I play everything on a 12-string. OK, maybe my repertoire isn't that extensive, but still.... :p

Ok well yea, you have a point, 😄I was just playing it while dinner was going and threw all kinds of stuff at it beyond my “12 string songs”, and what a blast, this is definitely a keeper! The guy kept it in fantastic condition, and really I’m smitten with it, and honored to carry the torch and keep it looking good! I actually prefer less bling, the railroad tracks, blocks and abalone on the upper echelon models is too much distraction for me, looks great but messes with my eyes so a few dots is more appealing.

I would love to, though sonically, isn’t the JF30-12 a less blingy version of the current F512 Maple? 😉. But I suspect you are recommending the flat back rosewood version yea?

Great looking guitar - I’ve never played a Jf30-12, but I had a JF30-6 and just loved it! Enjoy that 12.

Very nice!!
I read this quickly & may have missed it but what year is it?
Thank you! I don’t even know, it’s among the last few years in Corona. When you look at the serial number chart, at least the one I used, they don’t even provide Corona years lol

"Sort of". The basic specs are the same as you noted, but there are some significant build detail differences such as the truss rod style. Guild went to single-truss necks on 12-ers ca 07 in Tacoma. Top radius was changed in New Hartford, (412's/512's), and no clue what CMG may have changed elsewhere.

Think of 'em as 2 takes on the same basic recipe. ;)
