As many of you know, I purchased Qvart's 74 s-100 carved last week. I am absolutely floored with how good this guitar is. Very Happy!

Seems like I have been discovering some new licks. Might the shorter scale lenght be due to this? I'm amazed at how sweet she can sound and then, when pushed, scream like a banshee....Did I mention how pleased I am with it!! :)

Here is the obligatory updated "family photo" (please excuse the non-blood relatives)

Left to Right:

Mid 80's American Strat(Dimarzio Area 58/67/61 p/u)
Nature Boy!
Ibanez JS1000

Thanks again to all who steered me down the path towards the s-100!!!

I'd like to spend some time with a short scale too....I guess putting a capo on the second fret gives you that feeling....by the way the 1st picture was unexpected....almost poke my eye out....great looking axe.... :D Steffan

Actually, I'm glad you posted such a large picture. Now I can rest easier knowing the finish checking didn't get worse during shipping!

I'm glad you dig it. It's amazing what you get for your money with these vintage Guild electrics. I don't know about you, but when I first picked up a vintage S-100 (this '74, by the way) I just knew it was my guitar. Like it was made for me. But alas, I let this one go and will console myself with...

Anyway, it's good to know it made it there safe and sound and you are happy with it. Now go play the $hit out of it!!!!!!!!!!!

(One more thing........you might need to tweak the truss rod a tad. I didn't adjust it after switching from D-tuning back to E. So if you notice some buzzing or feel like the notes are out of whack a bit, that's why.)

Thanks Q, I AM playing the crap out of it. Once of the things I was impressed with was that the action was pretty low and no buzz on any frets. I will leave well enough alone and not mess with the truss rod.
