I saw this nice Duane Eddy 400 on Gbase. I was looking for one for a while, but i since scored a semi-wrecked X175 which is more in my price bracket. This is nice, though, and they told me the action is solid.

There's some KERAZILEE priced DE-400s on Gbase ($7,000 anyone?), but this is finally reasonable And it's already sold :)

I realize you got one fairly recently, didn't realize it was in "semi-wrecked" shape..!

only in the sense that the fingerboard inlays need to be redone (they're curled up like fingernails) and the binding will need to be pulled off and redone/replaced. It also has no knobs and some tasty scratches, but it's not too bad, action is good, neck is good, frets are good.

Completely different neck shape on this 50s Guild compared to my 60s Starfire. it's basically a vee shape.

I honestly prefer the mini-hums to the dearmonds

Non-original scratchplate on that Blonde DE-400 at GC

Dunno, it's fret wear, but not as bad as some I've seen. In fact, it looks like you could probably still level those frets, they seem large enough from the pic.
My main player is starting to look like that again too....it's gonna need at least a fret level..
