Noticed a cracked headstock the other day during a string change......off to the Luthier to get it fixed tomorrow. In his words, all it needs is some "quality time with some clamps and glue". It must have cracked (hairline) falling off the stand about a month ago. Didn't catch it then, glad I caught it before it got any worse. headstock.jpg

Good luck, Brick. Yeah, looks like you gave it a smack. Hope it repairs clean. Looks like it didn't split the wood at the nut, so at most the tuners will have to be removed to get the glue in the crack and clamp. Might not even need to do that. If you're not worried about making the damage invisible, this should be no big problem.

As other said, glad you caught it early.

I have a 1934 Gibson with a headstock crack like that. The repair looks to be about 70 years old. Solid as a rock.
