Traveled south on Thursday to do a presentation and had time to enjoy a different view at day's end.

Olympic Mountains from Whidbey Island, WA

It was a grand day, but a little chilly on the water.

October cheers, :D

Thanks for that Joe! Brings me back to when I was stationed at Whidbey Island NAS, looks like this photo was taken near the ferry to Port Townsend?

I thought about you when I was on Whidbey and shot this one to take you back. I'll bet you remember this bridge.

Deception Pass, WA

It's quite spectacular when the tide is rushing in or out of the pass. Not a great place for swimming!

Saw my first bald eagles up close from that bridge - 2 adults teaching 2 young ones to fish on the east side of the bridge, then they flew directly over our heads and into the sunset!

Also, when I got discharged from the Navy, I flung my white sailor hats off the east side of Deception Pass bridge just for fun to express my new-found civilian freedom. Boy, they went a long way  Fold the brim down halfway and they sail just like frisbees!
