Peter Yorl on a burst Stafire I Bass 1969

Here's some new film footage from the June, 1969 Newport Folk Festival. Its the Byrds with Peter York playing a tobacco burst Starfire I bass. I thought he always used a Fender bass, but you can see the Starfire especially good at 3:02, at the start of You Ain't Goin Nowhere.

I have to admit that I really wasn't into the Byrds anymore at all during this time period. But there are Byrds fanatics that claim this was the best lineup the Byrds ever had.

Nice! It has been said that the famous bass intro to Eight Miles High was also played on a Starfire bass, though I don't have any confirmation of that handy. Sure sounds like it could be one though.
