While I didn’t get Prince, nor did I like his music ( save for the song purple rain), saw the movie, I had a friend who was his biggest fans. He knew everything about him, all the songs, memorabilia, etc. dude grew up on MI. It was cool to listen to him tell Prince stories.

For me it was "When Doves Cry." Have heard 3 or 4 over the years that I'd "own someday", but never did buy any albums. He absolutely could rip it up with the best, but not enough of his compositions really resonated with me.

Oh, he was a brilliant guitar player, soloist. I just was not into that kind of music is all.
I still really like the guitar solo he rips at end of Purple Rain...

Since we've veered to talk about the man, I'll just add that Prince was a monster behind the scenes too, guys. Enormous talent. Very big on production and making other folks successful too. Gone too young.

Born and raised in the Minneapolis area. My luthier, Dave Rusan, made the original cloud guitar. plenty of info online about all of that business. Knut Koepee was a great shop. I currently live about 2 miles away from Paisley Park.
FWIW he's still making "Cloud Guitars"

pretty cool stuff.
