Don't believe I've ever seen either one of 'em with a Guild 12-er before. Wonder if that's related to Mark Dronge's presentation of the F30R to Simon, as in: "Here's another idea I had, wanna try it?"

Got a nagging feeling I may have actually seen that confirmed before and have simply forgotten.

White TRC leads me to believe "prototype" like the Dreadnought 12-er seen in the Chapin Family vid and a couple of other sightings of the early 12's.

It may be an artifact of the photo and lighting. I have seen several B&W photos where the reflection off of shiny black plastic looked white.

Of course I have no recollection of the early 12 sightings citations so it could be there were white TRCs or it could be the same reflection phenonium.

Definitely white TRC material.
In this photo for example, if the light were really that bright one would see further evidence of it on the pickguard. Also at that time the TRC wouldn't have been shiny plastic.

In the Chapin family vid, the guitar was being played, in constant motion, and no "wavering reflection" artifacts of lighting are present. It was 1965, before Guild had ever made a production dreadnought 12-er.

Heart Full of Soul, '65, F-212 or 312, TRC clearly white from all angles:

Could be very well a normal black TRC. Strong studio lights reflect.

Given Art’s height and the age of them in the photo, I would say it was taken well before the 1968 debut of the F-112. Since the F-212 (non-xl) debuted in 1966, and would look size appropriate for his height, I’d say it’s an early F-212.

Yes, but note the other sightings, and as mentioned there aren't any other strong reflections in the Garfunkel pic such as are evident along the strings and headstock edge and edge of top on treble side, in that pic you posted.

I was going by the F-30 style bridge, also Mark Dronge's '67 F30R presentation to Simon as being a possible connection (?), is all.

'65 catalog, note the bridge:

And yes, the F-112 did appear in '68 so pre-68 would make sense if it is in fact a prototype. Not trying to make a convincing argument, just posing the question..;)
