He certainly brought the 5-string banjo back from obscurity. I have an old album called "Earl Scruggs Family and Friends" from the late 60's or early 70's, good stuff. Great stuff, even has some commentary on the VietNam war.

I think that Earl did more for Bluegrass music than anyone else, with the exception of Bill Monrow.
I loved what he did for the 5 string banjo.

Heaven is putting together one great band.
