Sorry to 'burst your bubble, Hammer, but it's the reflection off the studio lights. See the (Soundgarden on Conan) post.

Excellent reissue S-100, probos, and way to put it to the best possible use -- on stage! :D

Just checked it out and, sorry, but that thing looks green to me! All the green lights were behind him and, I gotta think if they had been in front or reflecting in some way, the pickguard and headstock wouldn't be pitch black. Watch the Hunted Down vid full screen again.

Yeah, but shortly after the 17-second mark you get a shot again and it looks black as midnight. Now I could be wrong, and I usually am (just ask my wife. :?), but I'm thinking it's still the stage lighting that's making the guitar look green. I have to admit, it sure does look green at times.

And for the sake of argument, let's say that Mr. Thayil does have a green S-100. Does that them make him as cool as you or you as cool as him? Or do you just share the title of Coolest of the Cool Kids?

Oh, I know he has one. It's in the Black Hole Sun video and I watched him play one on stage in VA in 94.

Oh, he has a greenie. And an natie and a blackie. We didn't get a whitie at the show I saw. :(

The only green one I have ever seen (that I recall, at least) aside from mine and Thayil's is the Custom/Deluxe one that was floating around CL for a bit. IIRC there was some debate as to if the Guildsby and finish were authentic on that one though.

Guildzilla had a green one for awhile but sold it. The deluxe I think was original. A special order maybe, or the vibrato may have been added. The green looked right though.

No maybes about it. I was wrong. I was so totally wrong. I was wrong in my wrongness. Wrongfully. That's just ... wrong!

Okay, he's not an LTG member, so technically he cannot be included in the S-100 Owner's Roster, but wouldn't having four S-100s quality Mr. Thayil for honorary "Cool Kid Status?" If we got ahold of his management group and somehow managed to get serial numbers to autheticate what years his S-100s are, maybe then we could add him to the list?

I would love to know his complete gear breakdown. There are some pieces here and there about amps, effects and whatnot, but nothing more specific about his guits.

Looks great, Jeff. That is the beauty of a natural S-100 is that it shows up on stage, no matter what the lighting or what the guitarist is wearing.
