I read this last night already, very sad. I never met him in person but had nice email conversation with him in the past about one of his personal Nashville custom shop Guilds (the "Concert Hall Classic"). 65 is no age... RIP Sammy!

Well I never met him but I bought a lot of stuff from him over the years. RIP Sammy.

I got to meet Sammy a few times over the years, and like @crank, bought a bunch of stuff from their stores, including my original '73 D50. I also used to see his dad frequently before he passed away, as we both frequented a friend's restaurant. Most recently I saw Sammy at our Ukraine Benefit in 2021, and he had provided the backline, at Elliot Easton's request. He and Elliot were very good friends.

Sammy was the picture of health at that show, and it's hard to believe he's gone. Only a year older than me, and that shakes me up some. RIP

Awful news. He actually bought a 1979 F-412 SB from me, several years ago (that @twocorgis restrung), that he posted on Instagram. RIP
