So they finally aired the Soundgarden show recorded at the Wiltern. Naturally Kim's Guilds are on display all throughout. The lighting was really good so you could definitely see the amazing green S-100 's color clearly. The nature boy and S-300 also appear. The only non-Guild is the Thunderbird for one song.
First off I can say that my impression of the show that night was confirmed by the recording, I.E> it was a fantastic show, they were really "on". The crowd/artist energy relationship was self perpetuating which always makes for a good time for all involved. I couldn't really see myself in the crowd, but no one wants to see me anyway! LOL
The program unfortunately only has a handful of songs, rather than the entire show, which was really disappointing. Interesting choices were made in the selection, such as including Blind Dogs, which for the general public is probably a totally unknown entity, but us fans, a real treat. I wonder what hand they artist has in selecting the songs? The between song interview snippets were cool. I guess they had to par it down to an hour total. You'd think they'd make a program like this longer, since most artists don't only play for an hour, or do they? I expect more. (especially at today's ticket prices!!)
Overall it's really cool that the recording was made and aired, despite any gripes I might have. I don't know if or when any re-runs will occur, but the website: http://artistsden.com/soundgarden has a little TV listing widget that will search for airings based on your zip code and TV provider. Catch it if you can!
