Expecting consistency from Guild can be very disappointing.

If I had to guess I'd go down two rabbit holes first.

Yeah, 92mm is probably metric equivalent for a soundhole originally designed as 3 5/8".
Ya, your right, it's slightly over 3 and 1/2 inches. Still, it is a pretty big difference from the standard 4" size on most acoustics. My 2006 F-50 is slightly over 4" had to use a little duct tape around the feedback buster to make it tight enough not to fall out. Whew!!!!!

Sound hole size is one of those counter intuitive guitar phenomena. Enlarging it increases the high frequencies. Read about it on numerous Tony Rice, Clarence White articles. Perhaps they wanted to keep low frequency response in the build.

This probably the right thread to ask this very infantile question...why a sound hole cover?
Is it to reduce feedback on stage?
