I understand there are other starfire models & the like, but, are these specific Indonesian made starfires any good? Specifically these guitars. Are they a keeper or a walk by?

This is for a SC, but I imagine they're all the same level of quality:

They offer good bang for the buck, but the Korean-made Starfires are higher quality instruments.

I wasn't particularly impressed with them. The electronics are cheap, and the neck was miniscule. As was mentioned, the Korean guitars are better made. I have a NS Starfire IV that's a great guitar.

I agree with DrumBob. It seems that members here generally have a higher opinion of the Korean-made Newark Street series.

If you explore the forum a little deeper, you'll see which of these models are more highly regarded and from which years. There have been many in multiple configurations, and they are usually quite easy to find used in great condition and at fair prices.

Just been looking at them online. The Emerald coloured one. I'm in Scotland & looking at around the £1100 mark. So 13/1400 dollars? If I'm going to spend that amount I'd like a guild hardcase for it, but they are difficult to find online here.

But I'm rolling the idea around in my head.

Just realised it comes with a hardcase. So I'm really thinking about going for it now.

It's just for personal use. A wee bit of home recording too. No gigging. Just bought a house & forked out £1000 on a new TV & didn't really want to be spending over £600 on a new guitar. BUT! I'm really thinking hard about this now ⬇️

Cheers man. Aye. I'm really starting to get swayed onto it. I'll be ordering online but trust the shop. I'll speak to a fella there on Monday or Tuesday (bought a guitar off him before).

I can pick it up for £1150 so roughly $1400. I don't know what they're going for in the States but hope that's comparable.
That would be an as new price here. Used models go for around $800 - $900.

Cheaper now at Sweetwater blowout, though not sure if they have this model (new)... Check sweetwater.com and our online offerings forum.

I'm referring to the Korean-made Starfires, BTW, not the OP's titled SF1 (which is from Indonesia).
