Was yakking with Wilmywood and we were discussing our treasures, our gorgeous and wonderful Guild G37 Blonde models. His 73 has a mahogany neck and my 78 has a 3 piece maple neck. We were discussing the stringer they used on the neck of the 78 and were wondering what wood the stringer is. Wilmywood thinks it is some kind of African hardwood and I'm guessing that it's mahogany. Does anyone out there know. Thank you for the help.

Do we know what they used on the higher end arch tops and the Artist Award? That could be a good place to look. I have a ‘77 with the 5 piece neck

I'm going with either walnut or mahogany.

On the maple, could be mahogany. It's such a tiny piece of wood it's hard to check a grain pattern or anything. Hans would know I'm sure.
