Surfing? Which Guild would you choose?

So here’s the problem. You can only choose one Guild for the current line, solid, hollow or chambered, up to play Surf with.

What would be your choice?

Welcome to LTG! I play Surf and from the current line I'd suggest a Starfire I DC, Starfire V or Starfire VI depending on your budget and if you want to buy new or used. These are semi-hollow and will be less prone to feedback and the LB-1 pickups are bright and jangly. The all have a Bigsby tailpiece. The Starfire I DC is made in Indonesia and the least expensive. The SF V and VI are made in Korea, better quality and more expensive. If you can wait a bit, the new Surfliner Deluxe should be announced in a couple of weeks. It's a solid body, 3 pickup model with Jazzmaster type vibrato tailpiece. Good luck with your search and let us know what you decided to get!

Personally I would not go with humbuckers. It's a shame they kept the bridge humbucker in the new Surfliner but they did. Alas I don't run the company. P90s are ok but tend to be a bit middy for surf, which is a big part of what I play.

I'd go SFIII or IV and switch the LB1s for TV Jones T'Armonds which will cost you an extra $300.

That said, there's no rules and it's all about the pick attack
