Hi all,

It is a fair while since I've visited here, at least until the last few weeks. Glad to see the Guild community is still alive and well (especially considering recent natural disasters).

I'm probably drawing a very long bow here, but here's my (probably) unlikely request:

I have bad GAS for a 70's s-100 (ideally a white one), but not a great deal of cash. I do have some Guilds I could swap or part swap, namely:

1966 T100D, red, good condition, no pickguard, some cosmetic flaws especially headstock.
1995 Bluesbird - red, very good condition, with case and candy.
1968 Starfire IV - cherry red, very good condition 100% complete but no case. Some finish checking.
1965 Thunder 1 Amp (ver1), needs attention.

If anyone happens to want any of those items, AND has an s-100 (70's) they are willing to part with, please let me know and I'll post some pics!

Here's the awkward bit. I am in Australia so postage is quite expensive. However, you never know, I might travel at some future stage, or someone might come to Australia...?

The SFIV might be a possibility. Might tempt me to give up one of mine. Probably the '74 carved. Why do you have to be in Australia, dammit!

Yes, it is a bit far isn't it? To be honest, I'm not really into the carved ones, but of course I can understand when others are. It is the white/cream ones that really float my boat, particularly with the clear pickguard, although I'd struggle to tell you exactly why - something aesthetic I suppose

I nearly teased you about owning 3 guitars of the same model, but then again, I used to have 3 Starfire IVs...!

Yeah, a lot of people don't dig the carvings at first, including me. As time went on I started to think they were kinda cool and after buying one...well, now I have two. 'nuff said.

As for white - good luck. That's an uncommon color for the '70's model.

I didn't dig'em a year or so ago, and here's one of my latest threads:

And yeah, why do you have to be in Australia? I want a vintage SF-IV, and might have considered letting my 73 (yeah, not the carved) go for the sake of variety... 8)

Yep, shipping one way is bad enough - both ways makes it impractical.
Would you consider selling the s-100 for cash? (the burst one?).
(you could then buy a Starfire in the US and I'll sell my Starfire here is Australia?)

NOPE!!!

Having sold the '74 (shipping out today) I'm down to my keepers - the sunburst '77 and the '73 carved. Unless I get into a real money bind them's mine!

Good luck!

Fair enough! I wish I had had my eye on things when you sold the cherry one in December. I hope the keepers keep you feeling warm and fuzzy.
