I found a mid-60s T100 in a local guitar shop the other day. It has a natural finish (which I haven't seen before) and appears to be in excellent condition. The shop is asking $1100 for it. Any thoughts on whether it's worth that price, assuming there's nothing wrong with it?

If it has original parts and is in good shape, I'd grab it. Changed tuners are no big deal. A changed pickup devalues it some but not as much as if they had to cut the body to fit it. Either way, play it... if you like the neck and it's functioning properly it's a probably a good buy, especially considering the other choices you have in that price range. Vintage OR new, there's few if any decent hollowbodies out there in the 1K range.

Thanks, Joe. The pickups look original; in fact, it looks all original. Aside from needing a bit of cleaning it looks awesome. I haven't played it yet so I'll have to do that, and take a much closer look at it, before I can decide. Of course, I also have to decide if it's worth listening to what my wife will have to say about another guitar

Take her hand and shyly confess that you're writing a song about your relationship and this is the perfect guitar to express the depth of love you have for her. :D

That's good. That's really good. I can picture using that line on my wife.......and her pointing at one of my guitars at random and saying...."ok, that one goes".

It's why my cheaper guitars are out and the good ones are in cases stored out of sight. :)

Like my buddy says... "I hope when I die my wife doesn't sell my guitars for what I told her I paid for them."

I've actually snuck a few in on my woman. my room is full of guitars and cases and one more doesn't seem to get noticed. to reveal my last one I waited till she was in a good mood, took her out for dinner and drinks, then told her that she should sit down, that we had to "talk". after a build-up like that she was probably thinking the worst, so when I told her that I had bought a new guitar for myself for my birthday, all she did was squawk a little bit about there being no room for it. honesty is the best policy but there is no reason to just blurt things out. timing, after all, is everything.
