I just played a Tacoma F-50 I liked a lot, but the sticker was really confusing.
What did I play? And what pickup is that?

I'll bet GC doesn't do anything about it and they try to dump it on someone.

We (LTG members) pointed this fakery out a long time ago and every time one of these comes up, we post a caveat emptor to our members, particularly when it's being sold for real Guild prices.. It's the most we can do. To be fair, the guys selling the fakes have usually priced them accordingly, and some of our gang have bought them and been satisfied with them, so no harm no foul.

It seems that Guild, particularly under CMG's ownership, but even before that, doesn't seem to care much about shutting these people down. When sold new, the guys selling them give full disclosure and maybe that's enough for CMG. I don't know. Perhaps under Yamaha this will change. But of course it really gets under my skin when I see these being sold like a real Guild.

Anyway, like I said earlier, buyer beware!!!

I called the store before going over (15 min drive) and asked for the serial number. When the guy said it did not start with a letter, I was suspicious. The strings were old, but it sounded pretty good. It was also much lighter than I expected and more resonant than the ‘79 D-40 they had for $1300 (needs reset). Still, the label was enough that I told the guy I had to find out wtf the story was. Like, did Tacoma make a bunch of start up guitars in 2004 or something.
Three cheers for LTG!
