I have a chance to buy a X-702 bass for 650.00. Does anyone have one or ever played one? I think that only 250 or so were produced so pretty rare. They have same pickups as my SB-202 basses so i'm sure they sound great. Shape would take getting use to though. Thanks fro any feedback.

Welcome to LTG. I doubt that number of 250 is correct. According to the often wrong serial number list on the Guild webpage it was even less than that number. I'm not sure if S/N 100 was the first one, S/N 235 is the last in that list. But there were often numbers skipped or not recorded in that list, so we learned here that counting production numbers from the serial number list is not correct usually.
I have no experience about basses, but here's the 1982 catalog page showing it:

Thanks for the feedback. Does 650.00 sound like a resonable price? I have three SB200 series basses (hopefully i can post pictures soon) that i paid between the 450.00 to 700.00 range. I have an SB-201 in black, a SB202 in white with the split pickup and single pickup and a SB202 in red with the two single pickups. I love all my SB200 series basses. They have the more modern look, sound awesome and are balanced great. I owned a B302 once but like the SB series better.
I guess the X-702 takes some getting use to as far as looks go, it's certainly got a different look.

Well you'll also find that it's much lighter then the SB's.

I'd go $650 if it's in really good (like and 8 or 9) and has the original case.

You might be able to talk them down as I really don't think there's much of a demand for this model of bass.

I thinks it's a SB203. I have never seen one in person, or even one on the internet. It's got to be pretty rare. I have one like it minus the extra single pickup.

Welcome Guilded one !

I find the shape of the X-702 hideous but if you can live with it, I would say it`s a decent price. I would love to see some pics of
your SB series basses. I have a 1982 SB-201 in sunburst. They are well balanced great sounding basses. Here`s mine -
