Does anyone know (Hans?) the weight that truss rods add to the overall weight of a guitar? Of course, with the double truss rods in 12s, there's something extra to pay for the price of 6 more strings.

Here is a handy dandy steel weight calculator. http://www.dwsteel.com/calculator.asp?m1=2&m2=4&s=2 If you want to get real serious google "steel weight calculator" and you will find others that calculate weight for specific alloys.
Thanks, Doc.
I don't know that I want to get "real serious" but I would like to know the weight of the truss rods. It seems that I would need to know more specifics (length, width, thickness, diameter, etc.) about any piece whose weight I'm trying to calculate before I could start my calculating.

Well yeah, ok I work with metal everyday and that was kind of a generic answer. So I looked at my guitars, and called my friend Frank who repairs guitars. We estimate the average truss rod to weigh 4 oz +or- 20%. That's my best shot. Frank said he would weigh one at his next opportunity, but he won't remember.
