greetings all,

I am interested in (temporarily) replacing the Guildsby on my 1963 SF III with a harp tailpiece. I won't do it if it requires new screw holes.

Do any of you have guidance whether there is a tailpiece that would be a direct swap? Anyone have one in their parts drawer?

Thank you,

N

A harp is a direct swap on my sixties SF III and uses the same screw holes, but I couldn't tell you if a regular trapeze would work without new holes :( .

thank you. Glad to hear it.

Is that the harp with a hinge or the stamped version?

This is good news.

I had one of the stamped harps, which were the only ones I've ever seen on a thinline. I haven't seen a hinged tailpiece on a Starfire.

I converted my SFII back to its former glory by selling the guildsby (switched at birth) and replacing it with a period-correct stamped harp. Same screw holes... perfect fit! I'm happy, the guitar is happy, the guy who bought the Guildsby is happy as is the guy who sold the harp... and I came out $ ahead. What's not to like?

I got the harp from Ken Nash (very nice).
