Bonnie has added the mighty Duke Levine to her already incredible band, and we're set to see her (with The James Hunter Six opening) at the old Westbury Music Fair here in early June. Last time we saw her there, Richard Thompson shared the bill, and it was a top five concert of all time for me!

She has "stolen" Duke from Mary Chapin Carpenter?


Duke Levine (a Worcester, MA born guitar-slinger if I understand correctly), and John Jennings were staples
in MCC's road band for a long time. But John has passed away and things change I suppose.

I met both John and Duke very briefly following a show in NH...ME?...both very warm and friendly, and more than happy to sign
my Telecaster pickguard.

Duke is a beast Bill! He plays the "Soulful Sundown" (second Friday of every month) once a year on average at my church, and it's always a treat. Of course, he has a monster band backing him as well, many of whom are friends of mine.

Ah, Kevin Barry...I think he was playing lap steel in her band when I saw MCC.

Notice how Duke does those pedal steel bends without a B or G bender...and at no time do his fingers leave his left hand
