Suzie the S-100 has had some loving. I got that ghastly blue paint off the pick-up surrounds with sandpaper, steel wool, cutting compound and elbow grease. I think they look pretty good. Also a re-fret - and while I was about it I got a bit more radius added to the fretboard. It has made a huge difference to playing comfort.
The fretboard was previously virtually flat in the middle and the radius is now about 12in
I'm going to add some foam or something to damp the strings behind the bridge. After that and a few adjustments to string spacing, neck relief and pick-up height, she'll be perfect. Jeff the matchmaker has my eternal gratitude.
