"Upgrade" to a D40 from a D25? Would you do it?

Mine is a Richie Havens with AAA Sitka Spruce. The D40 Bluegrass Specials have Adi tops.

So far I've only seen that documented from Tacoma forward. Still don't think Westerly (or Corona) ever used anything but Sitka.

Why was there a jump in prices on the newer Guilds coming out of CT. If I remember right, the street prices on the Tacoma D40's were somewhere around 1500 - to 1600, correct? Now the D40's are going for somewhere around 2100. Is 1000 a good price for a 2008 D40 in pristine condition?

I think you're in the ballpark anywhere from 900 - 1200... Just my opinion...

Hi Curbucci, welcome aboard! Probably a lot of reasons for the hike: lower production for the sake of higher quality and cost of materials are probably the two biggest. But I might have forgotten a couple of others.
