Hi again,

Another guitar has entered the equation. I now have concerns about the necks on the CV models and do not the relish the possibility of re-set in future years. I am considering a Guild F47M Blonde. One problem is the fact that it is at the very top end of my budget and it is located some 200 miles away (that's a long way in the UK). Diesel fuel costs about $8 per gallon in the UK and it would cost me about eight gallons to see, and possibly buy, the guitar.

I have seen a couple of threads about this guitar and they do appear to be favourable. Does anybody have any comments about the model?

Once again, many thanks for your help and interest.

A quick response to Jerry R. I live between Leeds and York and you're right, Guilds are very hard to come buy and opportunities to make comparisons are virtually non-existent. I will definitely have to cross the Penines to find a suitable guitar. Sadly, Music Ground in Leeds has little to offer other than guitars that are way out of my price range or just not what I want i.e lots of Corts, Tanglewoods et al.

Many thanks for your help

hard to tell michael,
but the f-47m also might be a lifetime guitar. so this trip might be worth it, if it is no gad f-47.

Second that. Call 'em and make sure before you go. I have nothing against GADs but I don't think they'll be "lifetime" instruments as Krysh is saying.

I will check, but as far I know it is an American made guitar and not a GAD. I may be ging tomorrow, but I will ring first and find out.

Cheers
