I know that this is a long shot, but I would love to connect with the lucky person who bought my sunburst Guild X-500 from the Danvers, MA Guitar Center.

It was listed for $2,000 (a steal in my opinion.)

I'm thinking that a new purchase like that might cause you to join this forum. I'd love to be able to give you the details of it's history!

Believe it or not... because of this post, I was contacted today!

I will be able to bring the new owner up to speed on such a great guitar.

Thank you Larry!

No problem Jon - hope you and Mike have had a chance to connect by now. I am as interested as Mike is to find out your stories on his new guitar.

(My first post - just received credentials).

To everyone else, Mike is a friend of mine, my instructor, and a professional player who covers many genres. He had been telling me about this X-500 he was looking at. Long story short, I saw Jon's thread, put two and two together, and there you go.

Can you 'Guilders" believe this?

Yes all, I spoke with the buyer via email and we've had several exchanges. I will leave his name out as this is private info.

Let's just say that I couldn't have asked for a better person to end up with that fantastic guitar.

The new owner has had some minor adjustments done and he's loving the guitar!

Larry, you're the best!

The X-500 had been in my family since 1978. It was bought by my older brother in an estate sale for $500.

It was his main guitar all through Berklee and beyond. I'd always loved it, but I was way to young to have such a fine guitar.

As the years went by and my brother's style of play moved into a more acoustic direction, he gave me the Guild. I played it for quite a while, but it was not the best platform for the style of blues I currently play so (after much careful thought) I traded it for an American Standard Tele. I love the Tele, but it's not an archtop.

Jon - I don't know about being the best, but I do like helping people network. My friend just sold a hollowbody PRS (extra thick body, kind of a limited carve) to another friend of mine. I put them together and the deal was done in an hour or so.

I will maybe have a chance to hear and play your guitar this weekend. I've heard some recordings that have already been made with it, and it sounds great!
