would anyone have concerns about this.

This guitar apparently has had a second strap button installed next to the original jack input. I have not personally seen this however i am not an expert on guitars. Is this common. and could it have compromised the structure in anyway. Thanks guys. I appreciate your input and help so far.

The second install is a JACK. You would plug in your 1/4 inch cable there. The installation is in line with the ORIGINAL strap button. Same internal block for support. I wouldn't worry about it if I liked the guitar.

Yeah, it's subject(ive) to how much $$ I have/want to spend on a particular guitar.

I'm sure the strap button/input jack is fine structurally. But, seems like it would be a bit awkward with a strap and chord right next to each other. Does the strap get in the way of the chord or vice versa? Probably ok, but I'd want to try it all hooked up before buying.

I once passed on a very nice, JF-65 because a previous owner had installed an input jack below the strap button. I knew that while not a structural issue, it would bother me from an aesthetic one.

If you look closely at the photo, you'll notice that the original plastic strap button was replaced with an input jack....and for some reason, what appears to be a second, metal strap button drilled and installed below it. Kind of hard on resale?

That said, the Seller is asking you to accept the "improvement", and charging you a premium for the privilege. Guitars of that vintage usually go for, as was noted, around $1500 or less.

Tristan,
You're probably correct....the extra metal on the bottom of the guitar would drop
the price to around that. Would have been a sweet guitar without the addition.
The Seller doesn't bat an eye in His ad copy....like every other vintage F-50 comes
with one.
