looking to pull the trigger on purchasing this 1979 x 500 the serial # J100017,,this is a 1979...it is in mint condition..so good it is scary..any feedback i am all ears

It should be # JB100017, but since this type of serial number was new at the time, it is very well possible that a mistake was made. Does it have # J100017 on both the back of the headstock and the label?

Hello Hans........your right Hans ..it is JB100017..i mistakenly omitted the B.. i asked the dealer if it had been refinished because the lacquer is so unworn..the neck has no wear...there is a little yellowing on the binding at the top of the neck
