Since I first accidentally stumbled across Junior Brown on Austin City Limits in the prior century, I had seeing him live on my bucket list, particularly after I picked up his Guit With It CD.
Then I found out he's pretty much the house band at The Continental Club in Austin, TX, and I started thinking up ways I could sell She Who Must Be Obeyed on letting out of my cage for a long, lost weekend in Austin.
Several weeks ago I open my weekly email from Ram's Head Tavern, and there he is, playing an all-ages matinee on Saturday 04/07.
Putting aside my belief that you really need to see this man with a belly full of Lone Star at some late, late hour, we went.
Man, I'm glad we did.
The. Man. Can. Flat. Play.
Either neck - he's amazing.
And its nice hearing another baritone.
