Tag on the keys sez DV-70. I know it's a 72, but.....

Yes, it’s an obvious misprint. I bought the guitar from the original owner,,, who bought it from Del City Music owned by Bob Wood in 1994. I’d go hit Bob over the head for writing DV-70 on the tag but sadly he passed away in 2001.

The guitar sat in the owners safe for many years. He just wanted it out of there so he excepted my lowball offer.

I paid much less than what's on the original price tag. :D

Thanks Richard!

I used to lust over Yours, Tristan’s, & Jim's.

I shopped a long time before finding one that I could both afford and was within driving distance.

A person might look at a DV-72 and think it’s a pretty guitar but after playing one you realize they sound even better than they look.

I’m in love with this guitar and will never part with it.

Here's a picture I took as soon as I go home with it,,,, before wiping the dust off, polishing and replacing the strings that looked like they might have been original to the guiter.

Here's my current DV lineup.

On the ends are two DV-6,,, next to them are two DV-52,,, Center left is a DV-62 and center right is the DV-72.

The two guitars on the far right have the factory installed Fishman AGP-2 pickup.

I've had my DV-73 for about a month, now, and I finally had a chance to take some pics in natural sunlight.

The pics don't really do justice to the beauty of the wood... the top just glows with silky iridescence, and the back is lovely straight-grained IRW. I swapped the bridge and end pin for bone with turquoise dots. And the best part, she sounds as good as she looks!

She needs a bit of work... as you can see from the bridge pics, a neck reset is in order, and she needs some work (hopefully just finish touch up) to the fingerboard/neck up near the nut. Hopefully, I'll send her off to Fixit in the spring.

We're getting along just fine, thank-you! :D

She's gotten 90% of my playing time since I got her. Don't know if I will ever be brave enough to take her out of the house, tho'!

That's why I've never taken mine to Arlington, I usually take the DV72 to Arlington, but she has a small worm squiggle on the back, the DV73 is flawless and it would break my heart for someone to scratch her.....myself included.

It's been a while since anyone has added to this thread, and many of the old images dno longer show up (dead links). I know we have had a few DV-7Xs added to the LTG family. So, I thought I would resurrect the thread by posting pics of my three...

Just can't get enough of this DV-7X porn, Dave! The turquoise on that 73 pops like neon! I have to keep blinking my eyes. Ya' know, all too often I get caught up with the inlay on these things and forget about the gorgeous yet classy herringbone purfling. IMHO your MK has the perfect balance of all the visual elements.

Yet I could never part with my 72 NT:
