No, NAMM 2014 has not opened the door yet, but I am trying to make Jane's day at NAMM a bit easier! :wink-new:

So what do we see here from left to right?

Cool!

I love the Aristocrat. I'm super curious about the practicality/difficulty of putting a Bigsby on it. The one at my local music store seems like it might have enough neck angle to not need the roller, but I'm not sure.

While I love the look of that Capri, I have to say I'm a little disappointed that there's nothing solid to keep the Polara company. I'd had hopes for an S-200 Thunderbird.

Good that the line is getting extended though.

Why are so many of these new Guilds coming standard with Bigsbys? Nothing against them but it seems to me that there are just as many of us straightahead jazzers that don't need a Bigsby................jim in Maine

More rockabilly players than jazz players, I would guess. Why no Capris with Franzes? And the goldtop Aristo? That's ok by me after seeing alpep's goldtop X-175. AND that SF V.
This is when it stinks to be an early adopter.

As quickly as these new editions came out I would expect even more next year, and I can't wait!

My CE100 with Franzes is my favorite guitar, and while I'm thrilled with what guild is doing, I would have been shocked(pleasantly) to see the Capri *without* humbuckers. Considering they are entering just the second year of the Newark Street line, I'm pretty impressed with the model lineup.

It's funny how my AP X-500 has cured my GAS...for now! I am very impressed with what Guild is putting out on both sides of the world, and it would be interesting to see Guilds financials regarding the sales of all of these new guitars.

Since there are no other demos yet, this was the Fender video from last year where Walter had spotted the new Guild CE-100D Capri™ with Bigsby®, so it was a kind of unintended early leak by FMIC:

One of Guild's UK dealers (Coda Music) already has these on their site, listed as "due soon". The Capri is priced at £820, and the gold Aristocrat at £790 (£40 more expensive than the burst).

Having said that, the same dealer had the original 2013 Newark Streets listed as "due soon" for a good six months before they actually had them in, so it's difficult to tell if that means they'll be available anytime soon.

I think the big difference is that in 2013 the Newark St. series was announced at NAMM in January but they had not even started production yet. Now production is running since almost a year and it might be much easier to introduce new models now. And since we saw prototypes of the new 2014 models already last year (like in that Fender video above) the likelihood is high that it does not need another 6 month in 2014 until shops get them. So I guess there is hope!
