Can anyone post photos of either of these or any other rare factory finishes?

If it needs to be 'vintage' this is what I can do for you:

Thanks Hans, was curious to see what they looked like since they're in the book, but have never seen or heard of them in real life. Does the Guild gold hold up better than the gold Gibson used?

I would be very happy to have those two here with me. My oh my......

I was looking at an X-150G labeled as "X-60" in my sights on Craigslist in Ohio a few years ago but the somewhat high price with a refinished back caused me to cool down and leave it alone. Its easier to do that these days!

I would love to get a gold X150 or better yet, X175 (don't know if they actually made any X175's that color).

Hans wrote on the Gretsch forum 3 years ago: "The 'gold' finish became available during 1954 as well and even though it was only mentioned in the price list as an option on the X-150, the gold finish was available on all models. So far I've seen most of the models that were available during this period with the gold finish."
And he posted a 1954 X-175G picture:

And this was the X-400G that started the thread there: (the gold already turned green)

Not necessarily better. With that finish it really depends on how the instrument was treated /handled over the years. I've seen Gibsons from the '50s that still look excellent without the chipping and flaking of the finish that you often see.
