For future reference there are many things that might be called "Guild Guitar page" so calling out which one would be appreciated. Chicago Fret Work's Guild page? www.guildguitars.com ? Facebook or other social media outlet? You understand why what is obvious to you isn't to me.

That said it is a carved JS II bass. The design features oak leaves and acorns. Circa 1974-77. There is a corresponding S-100 guitar. They were carved as a tribute to Guild founder Al Dronge who died in a small plane crash in May 1972 in route to Westerly. That is the most common finish but I seem to recall a red/black burst with different carving and something darker - perhaps walnut or black. Several folks have one and there are a couple pairs out there as well. I think bluespicky has a pair and Grot's pair is shown below.

All of the above is from memory so I reserve the right to be wrong and claim it was just a typo.
