Maybe start with the artist list at the bottom of this link... have fun!

did Peter Cetera really play an F-612? didn't see that one coming.

some noteable names mising from that list, of course...i'm sure thats just a small sample of whats out there. that is quite the start to a collection of names though. gotta wonder which Guild Randy Rhoads played. an acoustic? or maybe one of those crazy 80s models/weapons

looks like Gillian Welch is on the list (near the end) as playing a D-25M. easy to miss as it's a long list, in no particular order. unless I missed them, I did not see Catherine Popper, Norah Jones, Neil Young, Frankie Hannon, Danny Hutchens, David Byrne, maybe? i didnt really look. hmmm who else? must be a ton. looks like at least one or 2 from Hans' book not in there. but lets face it, would be impossible to list them all. basically everyone has picked up a Guild at some point!

Jere Haskew gave a black Guild to Johnny Cash, so add his name to the list.

Also, Clapton played a srpuce over maple Guild, was it an F30?

Jerry Garcia played a Starfire early on. Add him.

Mike Nesmith played a D40, so add a lot of the Monkee's songs.

The reason I expressed concern about this project is that just because someone used a Guild in concert or held one in a picture does not mean they used it in the studio, let alone on a "famous" recording. Consider Nick Drake and the fact that when (or even if) he played a M20 is in dispute. Jack Casady played a Starfire bass but determining which recordings has not been trivial.

The curmudgeon retires to his lawn chair and starts yelling at the kids who are sneaking on his lawn trying to get his Stone Imperial Russian Stout before he can finish it.

The bassist in that clip is LTG's mgod. I'm pretty sure he posted about that video but didn't use any of his Guilds. I think Creed has at least played some of mgod's Guild six strings.

Well, reading the criteria,
1) famous songs that were recorded
2) using Guild acoustic guitars,
a Bluesbird or Starfire for instance wouldn't count!

But it's very difficult to proof what was used during recording, so maybe we should say finding a Youtube video of an acoustic Guild in "famous" songs is better.
"Famous" means people around the world would recognize it. (not only people in the US).
But even that task is very tough...

So lets see what I found. There were good names mentioned already.

I just list whatever I remember playing Guild acoustics without researching if the song was written by them or recorded with the Guild, it's a fun list I think.

Sorry, it got a bit out of control as it looks...I veered away from the original posters request...but at least stayed with the acoustic guitar request.
