Was just looking at the spec's on the Newark St guitars on the Guild website and noticed that most of the guitars are now listed as having a 1 11/16" nut width instead of 1.65". Fretboard radius remains 9.5". Mistake or has there been a change?

Cordoba may just use fractions for their nut specs, and 11/16" is more standard than 21/32". (Gibson's 24-3/4" scale is really 24.562" not 24.75", so it's not a new practice in the industry.)
Then again, they may also have changed the spec to meet the norm.

EDIT
The specs on the new S-100 listed on Reverb still reads 1.65.

Inquiring minds want to know. Good question. I have the strong impression the CMG does not intend to gather any moss.

1 11/16 = 1.6875, which is definitely different thann 1.65 and is very close to that of the AP's, which are 1.7. Along with the full-sized HB-1's which Guild states are at vintage specs it sounds like a change to me.

And 1 10/16" would be 1.63" so I agree that 1.65" sounds like a change and not just a different numerical representation of the same size or measurement.

I'm not sure where 1.65 comes from other than in the eBay listing. If you refer to www.guildguitars.com they list the spec as 1 11/16, which is 1.6875.

Was it listed as 1.65 in the past on the Guild website?

My X175B (which is definately pre-Cordoba) is 1.65" at the nut and certainly feels different than my Epi Casino which is 1.6875. I certainly don't have any problem with the 1.65 nut width (which I assume is more "vintage" correct) as I have really small hands and slim fingers and I get along well with the nut width of my Rickenbacker 620/6 which is only 1.63". However there are folks out there who prefer a wider nut width and when it comes to small measurements like nut widths, 1.6875 vs 1.65 can be a significant difference for some. I always found it interesting that people can be so picky and sensitive re nut width when it comes to Gretsch, Gibson and Guild but are fine with Fenders which typically have nut widths of 1.62, 1.65 for vintage and reissues and to a lesser extent 1.6875 for modern USA guitars.

yes, it was! And that's exactly what I got on my pre-Cordoba 2013 X175. Narrow nut and 9.5 radius is what made me think Guild is a perfect guitar for me. Most people like wider nuts, but then most other brands make wider nuts necks too. So if Cordoba changed that specification to fit with the rest... well it's a bad move and I doubt I'd be excited to play new Guilds.

Never knew 0.0375" in nut size could make such a big difference!!
It's a preference, really. I can play whatever, but I prefer the narrower. If you play constantly, it's part of your job, those little things do matter.

Definately was listed as 1.65 on the Guild website as recently as last week. Just noticed the change when I took a peek yesterday. The only model prior to that I noticed that was listed as 1 11/16" was the CE100. As of today the only model that still has the nut listed as 1.65 is the Aristocrat but it oddly has 43mm next to it in parentisis which doesn't make sense either. Maybe somebody from Cordoba can jump on and give some clarification. Personally, doesn't matter to me whether it's 1.65 or 1.6875 but for some it could certainly make a difference.
