New Starfire IV member please help

Hi there,

I recently bought a brand new Starfire IV and I'm quite happy with it, I just saw that the strap button on the neck heel was a bit loose and I took the screw out and noticed that the screw is a bit bent, not straight. I'm trying to find a spare with no success... I have mailed Guild and I'm still waiting for a response, the screw is a #5x1-1/4 Can anyone help me to find some of them???
Thanks

One option would be to buy a new strap button that comes with a screw. Not the cheapest way to buy screws but they only cost a couple of bucks.

Isn't this just a standard screw that every Lowe's or other hardware store would have???

I haven't been able to find any of those, the most common ones are #6x1, I couldn't find any original strap button either.
Ps. I live in Spain so here we do have metric sizes not imperial...
Any of you know how to get them???

By the way, I think that those screws are metal sheet instead of wood ones, am I wrong?

They might have a screw that will fit, but it won't look right. You really need a chrome plated phillips with an oval head.

Maybe in the section with special furniture fasteners...

Sure, Stainless Steel or Chrome Oval Head Phillips Sheet Metal Screws are available in many sizes in hardware stores, just enter in Google for instance. Or look for "strap button screws" in Google picture search, plenty available! Use Allparts for instance. Not sure where the problem is. No need to call Guild for one I'd say...

Music stores often have a big box of leftover spare parts. If you just go into a few and ask I'll bet one will turn up.

Fixed the move. This is why we don't usually moderate from our phones :)
Sorry, I was on the road to my youngest kid's graduation. Indiana is a black hole of non-connectivity, once you leave town and start driving through cornfields... ;-(

Fixed? It's still in the solid/chambered section.
(Who screens these moderators anyway?)

Are you sure it's a #5 screw? How did you figure that size? I would look for a #6.

Fixed. Better?

What I fixed before was that there were two threads that should have been one.
