Norman Blake

Norman doesn't show up here very often, possibly because he doesn't play a Guild but more than likely because he's just not that well known outside certain musical circles. For me, he was an early inspiration when I took my first guitar in hand over 45 years ago.

I discovered this short, well-done documentary about his latest project and the state of his health. He's as humble as he's ever been and still has the smoothest playing style you'll see. No bells and whistles, he just plays guitar. Check out some of his other videos if you're not familiar with him.

Wasn't that familiar with Norman, but I really enjoyed his playing style. and the short story. Will listen to some more of his videos.

Thanks Joe. I grew up on Norman's record Whiskey Before Breakfast. He also played on a lot of great records. Bob Dylan's Nashville Skyline and John Hartford's Aereo Plane are classics.
