Neato! I like the idea of a mandolin with a longer scale and lower tuning but have never spent any serious time playing one. (I do have an old Martin mandolin I strum on occasion.)

This was 16-3/8" scale with an oversized 1-3/8" nut. There's lots of different variants in mandolas, its not as codified as mandolins.

Congrats, Steve! I know you've wanted one for a long time. But, to have one made by Chris is just extra special!

Chris, you did a beautiful job of crafting this mandola. Just gorgeous!

Nice, Steve. That's a little beauty. I've never actually heard a mandola live. Curious to hear how she sounds.

WOW! Congrats on a beautiful Mando Steve! Chris, The craftsmanship and attention to detail on the Mandola looks second to none. Absolutely amazing talent you have in building the instruments you do. I could get lost for hours in the build details and appearance let alone the tone it must have. Very impressive!

I was in a shop today, and I would not be able to play any of the mandolin family instruments they had in stock.

Chris does awesome work!

I was lucky enough to see this baby in person today, and as someone with annoyingly high standards, all I can say is, "wow!"

Welp..... the pics I had seen of the early stages of the build were promising, and the pics of the finished work confirm. Sweet!
Great job Chris!

The Almond Brothers Band?

There's probably a reason I don't name my instruments.

Very nice and I expect to hear it in person soon so start practicing.
