Love how they go from my generation abruptly to the more ethereal tommy type instrumental. This stark song break exemplifies to me their transformation that took place in 68 and 69.

And Keith moon at his best way before the rest of the band, and wearing a t shirt while rest dressed up.

Best quote re Moon: I heard he never practiced, which sounds right cause I don't know how anyone could practice his drum style. 😀

That's a pretty "sedate" performance for The Who! Except Moon, of course, who never gave anything but 110%. Great clip!

Why Live at Leeds is my favorite album of theirs.
The only thing missing is a live version of "I Can See For Miles".

Yeah, that quieter guitar chord sequence became the foundation for the song Naked Eye.

-Dave-

one of my faves when I was young. And I think Live at Leeds, when My Generation became something else, that was also same chords right? precursor to Naked Eye.

Kids are Alright, I had it on cassette, listened to that for a whole summer non stop.

Yep, same chords:

F6/9 xx3233
Cadd9 x32033
G 320033

Lift off and hammer on with your index finger as desired. Super simple, and lovely. To get your Townshend on, loop the chord sequence and then improv over it.

Thanks for the chord sequence, I've only heard that a million times. Sounds great. Thanks for the video especially that very old one of My Generation.
