Were the pickups in the Duane Eddy 500's in any other Guild hollow bodies?

Granted it takes a whole lot more than Pickups to sound like Mr Greene, but it's a starting point. He was known to be a huge fan of Guild hollowbodies.

Great Video! The guitar in the link you posted is actually a Duane Eddy DE-400. The DE-400 models had the chesterfield headstock inlay, Block Pearloid Neck inlays, and all chrome Hardware. The DE-500 has the Guild High End "G" shield headstock inlays, Real Mother of Pearl block inlays with Abalone triangles in them and all Gold Hardware.

Those pickups in the video link are as Default mentioned the Guild Mini Buckers or Little buckers as some call them. They make a reproduction model now in Guild's online store labeled the LB-1 for around $80 a pickup with the pickup ring that are pretty true to the originals. According to The Guild Book of Guitars by Hans Moust the originals called "Anti-Hum Pickups" were first available on most of the Guild's Medium to upper Range guitars in 1963 as they started replacing the Dearmond 2000 or more commonly know as the "Dynasonic" single coils. By 1964 they were in full swing production like Default mentioned and were commonly used up to 1970. You can normally find Originals for sale on Ebay and other sites for around $80-$150 each with the original wiring in Excellent shape. A lot of people really like them as they have similar tone characteristics to the earlier Dearmond 2000 single coils without the hum single coils are known for. They are also pretty plentiful in the parts world which keeps the price to a reasonable level for an original set on the used market. Hope this helps!
