Madeira EG-71, Tele style find

Found a Tele style Madeira that has a real nice neck and fret feel. Electronics need a once over, so haven plugged in. But sounds oaky unplugged which is how I judge electrics...sort of. Anyone know anything about these, not much on Google. Thanks

I bought one new back in the 90's for about 150.00 incl a decent HSC. As I recall it had a nice chunky V shaped neck with a bullet style truss rod adjuster and med jumbo frets. The stock tuners were pretty crappy on mine (I changed them out for some Grover Minis). The pu's were kind of meh sounding. With some upgraded hardware, better pu's and a set-up it could definitely be a nice Tele style guitar.
