I'm glad you were able to keep and repair this amazing guitar, as well as work out an amenable resolution. Now at least you'll still be able to enjoy the guitar!

Just an update that this guitar is now in the hands of Fixit for him to perform his magic. He says that it looks like a fretboard separation and the hardest part will be the color-matching. I'm glad it's in the right hands.
