Gibson not attending NAMM 2018

My company (Gracenote) has been a presenter at CES for years. I think the whole "lifestyle" concept as a change for Gibson has got to be the motivation. Yes, there's been lots of music-related stuff at CES (Gracenote included) over the years, but It makes no sense for a Guitar company to be at CES vs. NAMM.

Maybe they just wanted to be sure nobody confused 'em with the old refrigerator brand while they're remolding their image.

Stooping to the low of quoting myself, but it just occurred to me, quite seriously, maybe there's just a whole lot more attendance at the CES than at NAMM?
And they simply didn't want to bear the expense of having to be in 2 places at the same time?

im thinking the CES tent was like 50 bucks less than a NAMM tent?

factory warranty? im not sure if the entire Gibson factory is worth 2 mil right now?

That's a good question. Vivian Campbell has been a guitarist with Def Leppard for years, and Lzzy Hale is a heavy metal guitarist - her band is Halestorm.I honestly don't know anyone else on that list.

But - I do know who Usain Bolt is - the runner - what's he doing on that list?

I don't think we'd have this many posts about Gibson, on a Guild forum, no less, if they'd just gone to NAMM.

They've got us talking about the brand! I think that's a score.
