Most of these folks probably don't realize that you can go to a Big Box guitar store or even a Mom and Pop music shop and get a used shipping box for free. When dealing with a first time shipper, it may be helpful to point this out to them. I enjoyed the Trailways Bus story... do folks even remember the old Trailways Bus Line.

The Bus driver may have handled the guitar more gently than some UPS or Fed Ex workers! :biggrin-new:

It was a dark and stormy night...

For your Sunday viewing enjoyment, I present another triple-face-palming, double-deluxe flaming contender for the Hall, straight
from the grimy, sinister, dimly lit streets of Pawnshop Guitar Packing Hell!

No, the damage didn't buff out.

Another one for the GP&SHH of S!

What thin bubble wrap there was - the photo of which is being way too kind -
all settled to the bottom, leaving the guitar room for a full swing-and-shake from
side to side - and apparently, swing and shake it did.

As it turned out, also plenty of undisclosed prior damage.
This guitar was described by the seller as "in excellent condition!"

Excellently broken and filthy is more like it.

Ebay has quickly taken care of the situation, reimbursing for purchase and
return shipping.

How are you getting all these terribly shipped broken guitars?

GAD - so far, the three guitars posted were all from different sellers on ebay.
Shippers were Fedex and USPS.

I kept the first one, the FS46 - no damage, just terrible - and bizzarro - packing.

Follow up on the red D15... somebody fixed the crack, touched it up along with
the other various wounds, polished it and sold it on Reverb - looks pretty good in the pics :biggrin-new:

Thank you for using Priority Mail Service

Uh... so.... the seller maybe had just lost his job at the piñata factory...?

This one is so weird, I think I may just have to hang it on the wall and never open it -
I don't know if can be opened.

Hard to fathom how much time, USPS boxes and tape this must have taken to do - it's
stunning to behold in RL in all its wretchedly misguided meticulousness... but somehow it's damn near art.

Oof. I bet the person that wrapped that last one was downright proud of the work they did.
