I just bought this Amp on Ebay . The condition of the amp is pristine there isnt a drop of new solder anywhere everything is all original the power cord 2 prong and speaker cords still are flexible the chrome is impecable but when i fired up the amp a loud hum was happening im suspecting electrolytic capacitor Everything looks pristine no obvius capacitor leaking- the tubes are Rca 12ax7a and 4 amperex bugle boy logo made in holland EL34s. and amperex GZ34 rectifier which glows bright Orange all the tone capacitors look great but not tested yet Anybody have any ideas how to proceed with this amp.
thanks

Hi poboy,
I just got the same amp. Mines all original too. Same tubes except for the 12ax7s. Mine does not pass signal and only hums on channel 2. I believe changing all the electrolytics would be a good place to start. Especially the can cap. I could not find an exact replacement. The values needed are 20uf 20uf 30uf and 40uf all 475 v. Let me know how it turns out!
