Since GAD was so bored last weekend I thought I'd try to leave 'im a little grist for his mill on a Friday afternoon.
Here's the hypothetical scenario:
The Brain Police are finally gonna ration your internet access and tell you you can only have 3 websites anymore.
What're they gonna be?
ME:
1: Wikipedia (who'da thunk? LOL!)
2: Google Maps-Satellite View's even better than flying. NO airports lines to deal with.
3: Google itself. That way I can at least look up and log on to other sites.
Like this place.
:friendly_wink:

Heh - thanks! Wait, what about gad.net! Does running my own count as one?

Sadly for me they would be United, Marriott, and Avis.

Nope, t's just that y'can get busted for that sh-t, now.
But I suspected you were gonna be able to live without Satellite View.

hahaaaa

https://geoguessr.com/ is also quite fun - whenever I do that I spend considerable time trying to get within less than 5 meters from starting point and earning full 5000 points. So far closest was like 60cm = 2ft. When you get landed in middle of highway construction in Russia or some side road in Australia or Alaska, you have to go looooong ways before you find something to catch....

This is the one I couldn't do without:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-9-kyTW8ZkZNDHQJ6FgpwQ/videos

Every time an LTG member suggests a video in the "From the Store" section, I am off and running for the next two hours watching music videos... everything from B&W videos of Mississippi John Hurt, Maybelle Carter and Flat & Scruggs... to rare live footage of the Dead, Allman Brothers and Dave Van Ronk (thanks Rich).

YouTube for songs, guitar and guitar gear reviews , and backing tracks.

For our current project, www.triumphexp.com for all the Triumph and GT6 knowledge.

This odd one...www.letstalkguild.com to keep my Guild GAS on full simmer. :)

Honorable mention, the web site I have to keep going... www.fihsf1.net

2nd Honorable mention, www.google.com to search with.

You all realize of course, that the Brain Police are logging these responses?
The honesty of the confessional could cost ya here, gentlemen.

Al, why do you ask if you're just going to argue with people about their choices?? And by "they" you mean YOU! YOU created this scenario...... no one else. Unless you stole it from someone and then we have another whole set of problems.........

Yeah, but every time he says, "Brain Police" I hear Cheap Trick singing it in perfect harmony.

Interesting question. I'll eliminate Google because of The Loophole and Google maps because on my phone, it's not a website, and any site that I use to check email. With that in place, I look at places I visit daily and miss when they are not available.

My three would be LTG, the Washington Post (which I think of as my local paper even though its reach is much wider) and www.kingdomofloathing.com, an online game I have been playing for over a decade and supporting an open source client to assist in playing the game almost since the beginning.

Going back to 1972, I have saved all of my concert ticket stubs. They are all displayed here along with thousands from other contributors.

This may have started out as forum for audiophiles, but there of thousands of users who contribute for music research/music gossip/other......

I'm not arguing I'm defending my position.

And by "they" you mean YOU! YOU created this scenario...... no one else.
And that makes a loophole illegitimate because....?
What, I have to post a glee emoticon for it to sink in?
:tongue-new:

Unless you stole it from someone and then we have another whole set of problems.........

I notice you've skillfully avoided even playing the game while accusing me of having stolen it...
I've turned you in to the Brain Police, thou surreptitious Droog.
