i have asked this question before, can't find the thread.

do a Guild Starfire 4 and Gibson 335 fit in the same case?

better question, does the Guild fit in the Gibson case?

thanks!

On ebay is a DeArmond SF Custom in an Epiphone case. The DeA SF Custom is like a Guild SF 4 and the Epi case is likely for a "Dot" or Epi 335.

When I had DeA guitars they were interchangeable with equivalent Guilds for fit.

My 1973 Starfire IV will not fit in my 2009 ES-345 case. The guitar to wide at the lower bout. I hope this helps.
Thanks John

A 335 has a 16" lower bout. Most Guild Starfire IVs, Vs and VIs are 16 5/8" I believe. You can put a 335 in a Guild case. You are going to run into trouble going the other way unless there is a lot of slop on the side of the Gibby case.

thanks again guys. turns out my real question is the body depth, not the width. is the Gibson 335 skinnier than a vintage SF-4 (NOT a 90s SF-4...which is 1/4 inch skinnier than vintage and Newark St)

many cheers

also I don't mean to be weird and vauge at all. I have a Carlo Greco custom that ultimately ill be buying a case for, sight unseen. it fits well in my 1980 SF-4 case, but i don't really want a Newark St. case for
the Carlo. hoping to find a Canadian TKL that fits at reasonable price. If I am buying an import im not looking to pay $150, and don't really need the Guild branding. Though I would settle for that if i must. If a 1980 SF-4 and a Gibson 335 are the same body depth, I have a plethora of options. if not I may just need a NS SF case

Carlo's lower bout is only 14 7/8 inches so im all clear there, and a 335 case would be closer to fit width wise. thanks again all!

The guitar fits well enough in the deluxe acoustic case that Carlo sourced from his shop, but I want a semi hollow case for it, as I have a use for the acoustic case anyway...
