"The Hero Takes A Fall"- The Bangles

"Fall in Philadelphia" - Hall & Oates (saw them a couple of weeks ago at Foxwoods. Still sounding great, but not enough stuff from Whole Oats, Abandoned Luncheonette, and the "Silver Album").

"Hey, Luciani" - The Fall

Hey Al, what was the connection between "The Boy Who Lost His Jocks On Flinders Street Station" & "Take Me out To the Ball Game"? Not getting it unless it has something to do with balls...
"Jocks"-slang (here, at least) for athletes such as baseball players.
Not sure which came first, the slang or the athletic supporter....

'World Of Wonders' - Bruce Cockburn
"Unbearable" - The Wonder Stuff

PSA - I'm a bit slow so only discovered the "Search Thread" tool at the top right of the thread - far more effective for finding songs used previously than the overall "Search" feature - e.g. "Behind Blue Eyes" has come up 5 times. Useful (if you don't want to repeat songs)..

"Let's Go Trippin'"-Dick Dale
(Surfer connection to Malibu.)
fender_perine_surfer_764_720-1.jpg

This is considered by many to be the very first "surf rock" hit.
(From Songfacts):
"Dale wrote this song with the ocean waves in mind. It is the driving beat of his Fender Stratocaster that gives the song the twang that is immediately associated with surf music.
Leo Fender himself gave Dale his first Stratocaster and amp in the 1950s; Dale, looking to replicate the sound of Gene Krupa on the drums, proceeded to play so loud and so hard that he blew out the amp."
:applause:
Dale (who coincidentally was also a lefty) was one of Jimi's heroes and the lyric "You will never hear surf music again" in "Third Stone From the Sun" was a reference to Dale's bout with colon cancer in the mid-sixties.
