World without Love...Gary Lewis and the Playboys (and all their Guilds)

OK with all due respect I cannot find where they covered that, assuming it's the Peter & Gordon hit penned by Lennon-McCartney.
In a wild wild veer, while scanning their singles listing on Wikipedia, I notice they provided the title track for the 1966 Jerry Lewis/Connie Stevens movie "Way Way Out", which had a space-fever-crazed-astronaut bit character named Schmidlap.
In what other contemporary film was that character name used?
Hint: It was derived from a wildly popular TV series of the year.
But Julie Newmar did not appear in it (the movie).

Onward:
"World of Pain"-Cream
(New trivia quiz:
The co-writer of that song was, er, instrumental in the formation of what late '60's band?)

Oops!
Sorry about that. Bad memory recall.
Now what?

Song Title Jeopardy:
Name the Leon Russell-penned tune that earned a Grammy that didn't even feature the title in the lyrics.
You have 72 hours since I don't work on weekends.
If you flunk, no more album titles allowed in lieu of song titles.
As long as that's ok with Walrus.

Now what?

Right, that's just matsickma's opportunity to recover from the "World Without Love" goof.
But the ones in post #355 are still open.
